Engaging the Community

The eyes and ears of a community's residents are a powerful force. The SDBA, through various programs, asks residents to make reports on illegal or suspicious activities. Ensuring that these reports are collected anonymously is another key to success.

As the program unfolds, the SDBA's involvement ramps up - with the collection of incident reporting forms, compilation of data, presentation in a format that is easily understandable, and distribution directly to the Detroit Police Department.

Next, the SDBA follows up on the status of reports, presence of any further leads, and whether arrests have been made.
